The books of my life

Included here are my (so far) all time favourite books, there’s no old classics in here not ones that you would say were.  To me they are the greatest books ever written.  So here they are (in order of purchase, because I really can’t decide which should be in first place).

79057The Attic (Nightmares) by T.S. Rue – published by Lions 1994  – Three best friends head off for a weekend of fun, when a game of dare goes scarily wrong – there is something in the attic that wants to play a completely different game.

The Hour Of The Phoenix by Richard Saxon – published by Consul 1964  – Stella and Kit need to get off Earth and as far away from the Blue Giant that’s going to destroy everything they know and loveThey are one of a few couples that are the humans last hope of survival, they must find somewhere they can survive and carry on the race, although they’ve been born and raised to be the last hope do they truly believe its possible and worth fighting for.

415N1023MBL._SL500_Rapture by David Sosnowski – published by Sceptre 1997  –  Part romance, part satire.  Zander Wiles, a small time drug dealer, starts feeling sick, next thing he knows – he has wings.  “Angelism” spreads into the world, and soon there are angel support groups and militant factions create the Feathered Nation.  Zander, the first celebrity angel, doesn’t see much point to the whole angel idea and this leads him to Cassie O’Connor, the best support an angel can get.

The Orcadian Novels: Body of Water / Memory of Water / Spirit of Water (TBR) by Stuart Wakefield – published by Magic Toy Books 2012  –

B.o.W : Leven, a troubled teenager has been passed around many different families.  Finally he finds one and seems to fit right in but he carries with him some nightmares and 1 rule “Stay away from the water.” In the search for his identity and with a broken-heart, he heads to the Orkney Islands where he finds out more than he bargained for and its definitely not ‘normal’.  Here he meets Dom and things not only become clearer, sexier but dangerous.  The water is Levens friend but also a very big enemy.

M.o.W : Shauns life really didn’t work out the way everyone thought it would, especially himself and when he finds his first love, ‘Leven’ in the River Thames, maybe redemption is possible.  But when Leven doesn’t know who anyone is, including himself, and demons start to hunt them both down, things slowly start to unravel. Can Shaun help Leven remember who is before the apocalypse lands on their doorstep?

S.o.W (to be released)

All these books are in my ultimate collection because even with a brilliant plot and characters that you fall for, each one takes me into the story and they seem like films when I read them.  I can clearly see each scene played out in front of me and can read them a million times without ever getting bored.  Each time I have trouble putting the book down and feel the same emotions as when I first read them; to me this makes an incredible book and ‘classic’.
